AskRoss recommends the best personal finance blogs – June 22, 2011

I follow many writers in the world of personal finance – not all are listed below. These guys write in a style or about topics which I think are of interest to my personal audience. It is hard to be all things to all people, so most of we bloggers settle on one or two specific areas of personal finance in which we feel expert enough to add value to your knowledge base.

BANKRUPTCY MATTERS – Douglas Hoyes, a trustee in bankruptcy

FINANCE MATTERS – Tom Drake heads an all star cast at the Canadian Finance Blog

FINANCIAL FREEDOM MATTERS – Financial freedom at any age by Boomer and Echo

FRUGALITY MATTERS – David Ning, writes a hugely popular personal finance blog

HUMOUR MATTERS – Nelson Smith writes with humour at the Financial Uproar Blog (that website link as been updated as the Financial Uproar site doesn’t seem to be working. Looks like he’s at Maple Money now).

INVESTING MATTERS – Dan Bortoloti, finance journalist for the Canadian Couch Potato

MONEY MATTERS – Rob Carrick, personal finance guru for the Globe and Mail

MORTGAGE MATTERS – Rob McLister at Canadian Mortgage Trends

SAVING MATTERS – The Frugal Trader, on saving and investing at the Million Dollar Journey

RETIREMENT MATTERS – Jim Yih, financial planner, wants us all to Retire Happy

TAX MATTERS – A good resource blog on Canadian Tax matters

There are hundreds of writers on the internet blogging away about their experiences and knowledge of personal finance matters. Find a few whose style and topics suit your interests; bookmark them; and subscribe to their newsletters and tips. And if you have a couple of extra minutes, give them a like on Facebook, or Digg or whatever social media platform you favour. They work hard to educate us all, and I for one appreciate their efforts.
